Shopping smart
What a blessing is shopping on-line! I have always disliked going to shopping, especially when you have to hunt the same stuff at different locations just to get the best price. What goes unnoticed is the energy and the car fuel that was wasted in the process would not have been good enough for the bargain you got. If you are shopping on-line you can actually check the same product with different brands and choose the overall best one. Many websites also give you the option to reserve the item and then you can go and pick it from the store or you can also simply pay it at the website and get a home delivery.
We have recently moved into our new house and had to buy a lot of items for the kitchen. One of the stuff that we were really trying to hunt was a simple water filter. Water filters are not very expensive. But there is a bad feeling that I get when I buy something and find that I could had got another one which was cheaper and would also do the job. We were looking for it at a website which would show products from all different brands and we finally got one with very good deal. We were so excited and felt very smart of ourselves. We reserved the item and went and got it home. After we reached home and opened the product we found out that the brand had its own website. When we opened the website and looked for the product we bought we found that even with the discount we had bought it costlier than the actual producer was selling it. We also found out that the price on the product’s website was also including the shipping.
We found out the we could had saved money in two ways, one was by buying it directly from the product’s website , secondly by getting it shipped as it would had been cheaper or would had cost us the same as travelling to get it. As Enigin says saving energy is saving money, I am sure we could have saved both money and energy here.
